A Single Bite is a food-based nonprofit in the Sullivan Catskills dedicated to feeding families with real, local food and to educating young people about the food they eat and where it comes from.
Since March 2020, with help from every school district in Sullivan County and a community of volunteers, A Single Bite has prepared and delivered nearly 87,000 free, healthy meals – now 500 servings per week – to local families struggling to put food on the table.
Program participants receive a dinner that includes a meat main dish, vegetable and/or grain sides, and a salad. Meals are delivered by volunteers or can be picked up at designated locations.
Philanthropy, including support from businesses, foundations and individuals enables A Single Bite to both feed and educate our neighbors with real food. The cost of a serving of healthy, nutritious food is only $5 per person.
