Tri-Valley Utilizes the 2023-24 Healthier Generation Grant in Partnership with Sullivan 180

Tri-Valley Central School District is excited to share some updates regarding how we’re utilizing the 2023-24 Healthier Generation Grant through Sullivan 180. From refreshing our elementary faculty lounge and adding calming kits to classrooms, to installing a new salad bar at the secondary school for healthier food options, we’re committed to promoting wellness for our students and staff.

Learn more below about how each of our buildings is making use of the funds from this grant project.

Elementary School Grant: With a focus on social emotional wellness spaces, the elementary school’s primary faculty lounge has been updated with paint and new furniture. Age-appropriate calming kits were created for all classrooms, and the staff training, Youth Mental Health First, will be held on the Nov. 1st County-Wide Professional Development Day. Training is open to staff from all Sullivan County Public Schools.

Secondary School Grant: Purchasing a salad bar to be installed in the secondary school, with the goal of improving food offerings within the school day. This will provide students the ability to have more nutritious foods and portions that work for them. The salad bar will promote a connection to eating healthier and feeling better. Food service staff will stock the salad bar and the Wellness Committee will be ambassadors during lunch.
