Elementary school artists in Mrs. Rowan’s class recently participated in the Annual Sullivan County Volunteer Firefighters Association Fire Safety Poster Contest, an initiative that promotes fire safety awareness and celebrates the dedication of local firefighters. This year, our students not only learned about fire safety and prevention but also had the opportunity to showcase their creativity through art.
The contest provided a unique chance for students to dive into the importance of fire safety while creating powerful visual messages. The children learned about the brave volunteers who risk their lives to protect the community and how art can be a vital tool in raising awareness about fire prevention. Through this experience, the students were able to express their newfound knowledge in a way that was both educational and artistic.
This year’s contest was a remarkable success for Tri-Valley Elementary, with our students taking home all three top spots!

These talented students truly captured the essence of fire safety in their artwork, and we couldn’t be more proud of their achievements. Their dedication and creativity have made an impact in raising awareness about fire safety in our community.
A special thank you goes out to the Sullivan County Volunteer Firefighter’s Association (S.C.V.F.A.) for sponsoring the contest and to all the volunteer firefighters who work tirelessly to keep us safe. Their support of this event helps our students develop a deeper appreciation for the vital work they do.
We are so proud of our students and their accomplishments, and we look forward to continuing to foster creativity and community involvement in the years to come.
